Benefits of Cooking with Banana Leaves

In Vietnam banana leaves are used to wrap dumplings, fish, and meat before steaming or grilling and also used to wrap up sausages and to line steamer baskets to prevent food from sticking. Banana leaves can also be used as plates, good way to just eat straight from the leaves and not have dishes lol. The leaves might not be edible but it is rich in natural antioxidants that get absorbed into the food during the cooking process. The same natural antioxidants that is found in green tea. Find ways to use them or add them to your cooking skill sets. Great way of keeping the authentic way of cooking and evolving the tradition. Let's keep this way of cooking alive.
